Music, Visual, & Fine Arts

Uphold the church’s respected and honored heritage of music with a traditional focus, while also introducing various styles of sacred, contemporary, praise music, drama and dance interpretations of the highest quality to stay relevant in our worship;

Foster the growth and expansion of the BSBC Music & Fine Arts ministry so that it will serve the church’s goals and will minister and educate all ages and talents of the congregation;

Enthusiastically support and enhance the activities of Bethlehem Star Baptist Church;

Understand the purpose of singing, privately study God’s word to be purposeful and effective ministers of music, and strive daily to live a life pleasing to God.

Praise Teams

Adult Praise Team

The Adult Praise Team is an ensemble made up of adult members who are committed to leading worship on designated 8:00am and 10:45am worship services.

The team is a place of enthusiasm and high energy and warrants your musical leadership to usher the congregation into the presence of God.

Rehearsals:  Weekly on Thursday at 6:30pm

 Flag Corp Praise Team

Our mission is to support worship services through our interpretation of a varied type of flag presentations; enhancing the worship experience visually.

Rehearsals:  1st and 2nd Wednesdays at 7:00pm and additionally as scheduled

Mime Praise

The Mime Ministry is composed of members of BSBC who convey God’s message theatrically and visually during worship service; striving to fulfill the great commission of increasing the body of Christ. Their interpretation of song aids in setting the atmosphere for exhortation, encouragement, and adoration to our Heavenly Father. It’s not about us but rather always about God, being a willing vessel, and expressing our total adoration to Him.

Praise Dancers

The Dance Ministry is an additional expressive art form for worship and ministry to the congregation. However, some may wonder what it means to dance and even worship through dance. By definition, dance is “a series of motions and steps usually performed to music; an artistic form of nonverbal communication”  Subsequently, dance ministry is using one’s gift and/or talent to minister, encourage, comfort, and edify the congregation; all while bringing glory to our Heavenly Father.

Youth Praise Team

The Youth Praise Team is an ensemble made up of youth members ages 13 and up who are committed to leading worship on designated 10:45am worship services. The team is a place of enthusiasm and high energy and warrants your musical leadership to usher the congregation into the presence of God.

Rehearsal:  Saturday before 2nd Sunday at 12:00pm and additionally as scheduled

Choirs

Big City Chorale

Big City, our children’s choir for those between the ages of 6 and 12, is focused on educating children on the importance of worshiping Christ through song. Our primary goal is to not only teach the children song, but to directly relate each song to the Scripture and their lives. We also encourage our children to present their best effort to the Lord. Colossians 3:23 states,

“Whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

Rehearsal:  7:00pm on 1st Wednesday of the month

 

Male Chorus

The Male Chorus consists of male members who are age 18 and above. The chorus sings on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Rehearsals:  Thursday before the 4th Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and additionally as scheduled

Mass Choir

The Mass Choir is made up of members age 18 and older. The Mass Choir sings on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. The Mass choir purpose is to minister to God and bring Him glory, then serve as “prompters” for worship.

2 Chronicles 29:11 exclaims, “The Lord has chosen you to stand in His presence, to minister to Him and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to Him.”

Rehearsals:  Thursday (7:30pm) and Saturday (1:00pm) before 1st and 3rd Sunday

 

Orchestra

Praise Orchestra is a body of Christian musicians whose heart and desire is to worship God, by reaching others with our music, to the glory and honor of God.  Our goal is to inspire musicians in orchestral performance and music ministry, while providing Christian fellowship and encouragement.

Rehearsals:  1st, 2nd, and 3rd Saturdays at 11:00am

Women Chorus

The Women Chorus consists of female members who are age 18 and above. The Women Chorus sings on the 5th Sunday of each month.

Rehearsal:  Thursday before the 5th Sunday at 7:00 p.m. and additionally as scheduled
